Rafael dos Anjos shocked the world by dominating Anthony Pettis at UFC 185, and apparently he did so too while nursing an injury during camp.
The UFC has a new lightweight champion, and it was a shocking win from Rafael dos Anjos who absolutely dominated one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in Anthony Pettis. It was truly an impressive feat on its own, but apparently Dos Anjos was also nursing an injury that hampered his training during the lead up.
Rafael Dos Anjos tore his MCL 3 weeks ago and hadn't wrestled at all since then. Makes tonight even crazier for him #UFC185

According to Martin it was a partial tear that didn't require surgery, but it was 'severe enough' that Dos Anjos' team wanted him to pull out of the title fight at some point. He toughed it out, and it eventually led to UFC gold.
