Carla Esparza doesn't sound too happy about the way the UFC and Reebok chooses which fighter to feature more prominently.
Carla Esparza doesn't seem to be too happy about the promotion -- or lack thereof -- of her UFC strawweight championship bout at UFC 185.
"To be honest, I don't think our specific fight is being promoted as much as it should be," Esparza told MMAFighting.com. "It is what it is. I'm gonna just keep winning fights and then those things will come. I'm not really too focused on that."

Apart from being a bit irked that she wasn't on the initial promotional materials for the card, she is also one of the few remaining champions not receiving an individual deal with Reebok. Fellow strawweight Paige VanZant did receive a solo deal, and she joins Ronda Rousey on the Reebok roster as the only two sponsored females.
"I'm never gonna hate on someone. I'm not gonna hate on Paige for taking an opportunity that was given to her," she said. "But as far as the decision that Reebok made for that, I understand wanting to deal with someone who is very marketable. But I think it has to go hand in hand with someone's skill level and experience, what they do in the sport."
"I think that's what it may be," Esparza once again joked about Reebok only liking blondes. "The only two [female] fighters to sign [with Reebok] have been blonde, so I'm thinking about throwing a blonde wig on."
Esparza beat a marketable contender in Rose Namajunas to win the inaugural UFC starawweight title. She will be making the first defense of her title at UFC 185 as the co-headliner to Anthony Pettis' title bout against Rafael Dos Anjos.
