UFC Fight Night 62 results: Godofredo Pepey submits Andre Fili with brilliant grappling

Featherweight firebrands Andre Fili and Godofredo Pepey got kicked off the UFC Fight Night 62 main card action on FOX Sports 1 tonight (Sat., March 21, 2015) inside Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

And it didn't last long.

Pepey started off the action with some spinning and flying shit, but Fili was able to circle away and avoid getting touched. Pepey, though, scored a takedown, but Fili was able to scramble to his feet. While clinched along the cage, Pepey pulled guard, jumping up and landing a standing triangle as he dragged Fili down to the mat.

"Touchy" was suddenly in serious trouble.

Fili defended well for a time, while Pepey cranked and angled for more, including an armbar. It was a super tight choke, though, one that Fili struggled to escape for seemingly ever, but Pepey was not about to budge an inch.

Eventually, Fili could no longer defend, tapping to the amazing triangle choke with less than two minutes to go in the opening frame.

Wow ... what an incredible effort from the hometown favorite.
