A long awaited rematch between "The Dominator" Bobby Lashley and James "The Colossus" Thompson has been confirmed for Bellator MMA's supercard in June.
As June 19th inches closer on the calendar, the Bellator MMA 138: "Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock" card continues to be bolstered with fights that will draw in both the casual public and hardcore fight fans.
The newly announced bout pitting Bobby Lashley vs. James Thompson is a little bit of both. Lashley recently signed a contract extension to keep him in the Bellator fold, and the promotion has returned the favor by rebooking a match originally scheduled for the "British Invasion" card on February 27th.
For "The Dominator," the fight in June, first confirmed by The MMA Report, is a long awaited chance at redemption. Lashley only has two losses in his professional career in mixed martial arts (MMA), and one was his Super Fight League 3 bout with "The Colossus" in New Delhi, India three years ago.
The rematch will have even pro wrestling fans salivating to see the two titans collide - Lashley at 6'2 and Thompson at 6'5" - to see if the latter's "Gong and Dash" can once again stifle the elite wrestling throws of the explosive Lashley.
Other fights announced for the card include a featherweight title showdown between champion Patricio "Pitbull" Freire and former WSOF champion Georgi Karakhanyan, former lightweight champion Michael Chandler taking on Derek Campos, and of course the heavyweight slobberknocker between Slice and Shamrock.
Stay tuned for more coverage of this exciting card from MMA Mania.
