UFC on Fox 15 results recap: Max Holloway vs. Cub Swanson

Check out a recap of the UFC on Fox 15 featherweight bout between Max Holloway and Cub Swanson.

Max Holloway is quickly becoming one of the impact fighters in the featherweight division. At just 23 years old, he already has 12 UFC fights under his belt and has looked better and better every time he has stepped into the cage. At UFC on Fox 15, he was given both the toughest test and the biggest fight of his career - a main card bout with perennial contender Cub Swanson. And he absolutely delivered.

Holloway (13-3, 9-3 UFC) took it to Swanson right from the start, mixing up his offense while staying out of the range of Swanson's power. He won the first round with some creative striking, and hurt Swanson twice in the second with big shots. A tired Swanson went down again in the third and Holloway jumped up him to lock up a guillotine. After wincing in pain for a little while, Swanson finally ended up tapping out.

Official Result: Max Holloway defeated Cub Swanson via submission (guillotine choke), 3:58 of round 3

What was the high point of the fight?

The submission finish. Swanson was trying his best to escape and was obviously in a lot of pain, but Holloway stayed patient and held on. It was enough to end the fight.

Where do these two go from here?

Holloway now finds himself among the elite of the division after six straight wins. A bout against a former title challenger seems like the most logical next step. Could it be Chad Mendes? Frankie Edgar, if he beats Urijah Faber? Or even Ricardo Lamas? All of them would be great matchups.

Swanson finds himself on a multi-fight losing streak for the first time in his career, and suffered a broken jaw and hand in the bout. He'll probably be out for a while, and when he comes back he'll be given someone in the lower half of the top fifteen.

Watch now, later, or never?

Now. It was a thorough beating and definitely worth a watch.
