Mirko Cro Cop's triumphant return to the Octagon also netted him a post-fight bonus.
UFC Poland generally wasn't a good show, so it's no surprise that the $50,000 post-fight bonuses went to the fighters involved in the few highlights of the card in Krakow. For the first time since February 14th, the UFC actually awarded Fight of the Night, as Mirko Cro Cop's 3rd round rally and TKO of Gabriel Gonzaga netted both men additional money. Previously, Ben Henderson's win over Brandon Thatch received FOTN honors, with the UFC opting for four separate performance bonuses over the ensuing 5 shows.
The two Performance of the Night winners were Maryna Moroz and Leon Edwards, who picked up the only 1st round finishes of the evening. Moroz pulled off the biggest upset of the card by hurting and then submitting women's strawweight contender Joanne Calderwood with an armbar just 90 seconds into their main card fight. Edwards scored an 8 second KO of Seth Baczynski in a welterweight contest, giving the Brit his first win inside the Octagon.
Newcomer Steven Ray may have been the only fighter on the card unlucky to miss out on a performance bonus, as he impressively finished Marcin Bandel with strikes from mount in the 2nd round of their preliminary card bout. Otherwise, you can't really complain at all about the decisions.
So to recap:
Fight of the Night: Mirko Cro Cop def. Gabriel Gonzaga via TKO (strikes) at 3:30 of round 3
Performance of the Night: Maryna Moroz and Leon Edwards
