Conor McGregor's rise to global superstardom and Irish hero status could see his face feature on the €1 coin.
A petition to include McGregor's face on the currency reached The Oireachtas Public Petitions Committee on December 15, with legislators set to discuss the proposal on Wednesday.
The UFC fighter's reputation went through the roof in December when he defeated reigning featherweight champion Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds.
"Our first meeting of 2016 will allow the committee [to] consider and action a further group of petitions submitted by members of the public," committee chairman Padraig MacLochlainn told the Irish Examiner (via The 42).
McGregor will face lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in Las Vegas on March 5 in a bid to become the only fighter to hold titles in multiple weight divisions at the same time.
