Saturday night's Bellator 172 has a new main event because the anticipated heavyweight showdown between Matt Mitrione and Fedor Emelianenko has been canceled.
Bellator president Scott Coker announced Mitrione was forced to pull out of the fight due to an illness. The lightweight matchup between Josh Thomson and Patricky Freire originally scheduled in the semi-main event spot has been pushed up to the main event.
