No. 2-rankend women’s bantamweight Miesha Tate will face No. 6-ranked Jessica Eye in June with the winner potentially getting a title shot.
UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey broke the news during the UFC 189 World Tour press conference in Rio de Janeiro on Friday and said it was a top contender match-up.
“I think I’ll be fighting the winner of that after I beat Bethe (Correia),” said Rousey. Rousey faces Correia at UFC 190 on August 1 in Rio. “I think that’s what the plan is. I’m going to beat Bethe and then I’ll beat the winner between Tate and Eye.”

UFC president Dana White confirmed that Tate and Eye have been signed to fight but did not commit to the winner earning a title fight.
“We weren’t supposed to talk about it here today, but Ronda wanted to, so we let her,” said White. “Jessica Eye and Miesha Tate are going to fight some time in June.”
Tate (16-5) has lost to Rousey twice, but has put together a three-fight winning streak. Eye (11-2, 1 NC) is coming off a TKO win over Leslie Smith at UFC 180 in November.
