RIO DE JANEIRO – Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 62 event drew an announced attendance of 7,707 in Brazil.

UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended. A live-gate tally wasn’t announced. (The UFC does not typically reveal live gate figures for its Brazilian events.)

UFC Fight Night 62 took place at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro. The main card aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, Brazilian fan favorite Demian Maia (20-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC) was mostly dominant against Ryan LaFlare (11-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) in a welterweight bout, taking a trio of 48-46 scores from the judges. In the co-feature, Erick Silva (18-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) finally got a second consecutive win in the UFC when he tapped out Josh Koscheck (17-10 MMA, 15-10 UFC) in the first round.

For the UFC 179 pay-per-view this past October, which also took place at Maracanazinho Gymnasium, the announced attendance was 11,415.
