Alex Caceres vs. Francisco Rivera set for UFC Fight Night in New Orleans

A battle of ranked bantamweights will go down in New Orleans in June.

The UFC is finally starting to book some 135-pounders.The UFC Fight Night card set for New Orleans on June 6th just added a second bantamweight fight, featuring a couple of guys that are ranked in the top 15 - Francisco Rivera and Alex Caceres. The promotion confirmed the bout yesterday.

Rivera (10-4, 1 NC, 3-3, 1 NC UFC) is returning to the cage for the first time since a controversial loss to Urijah Faber in December at UFC 181. Faber poked him in the eye right before the finishing sequence, but the referee never saw it. The bout was ruled a TKO and the Nevada State Athletic Commission refused to overturn the result, claiming they didn't have the ability to. It was his second straight loss overall.

Caceres (10-7, 1 NC, 5-5, 1 NC UFC) has also lost two in a row, to Faber and Masanori Kanehara. He had technically won five in a row before that, though one was flipped to a No Contest when he tested positive for weed.

The bout is likely to take place on the undercard. UFC Fight Night 68 will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier and Ryan Bader.
