Dillashaw vs. Barao 2, Pettis vs. Jury, and Tate vs. Eye all set for UFC on Fox in Chicago

UFC on Fox 16 in Chicago has 3 big fights headed its way on July 25th, including a championship main event.

For the first time since late 2013, UFC on Fox will have a championship bout in the main event. In an announcement made on Fox Sports 1's America's Pregame, the original UFC 186 headliner between bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao has been re-booked for UFC on Fox 16 in Chicago, Illinois on July 25th. Additionally, recently dethroned UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis makes his return against Myles Jury, while Miesha Tate battles Jessica Eye in a key women's bantamweight clash.

Dillashaw (11-2) famously took the strap from Barao with a dominant performance and a 5th round KO in the UFC 173 main event last May. Following one of the biggest upsets in UFC history, Dillashaw was supposed to rematch Barao immediately at UFC 177, but a Barao injury cancelled the fight on the day of the weigh-ins, and he instead took on (and defeated) Joe Soto the next night. The two were then set to headline UFC 186 in Montreal until Dillashaw pulled out with a rib injury. Barao (33-2, 1 NC) has fought just once since losing his belt, submitting Mitch Gagnon in Brazil in December by arm-triangle choke.

Pettis (18-3) came into UFC 185 as a big favorite against Rafael dos Anjos, but the Brazilian put in a nearly flawless performance and took the lightweight title away from "Showtime" in March. Jury (15-1) co-headlined UFC 182 against Donald Cerrone, but the TUF 15 alum's undefeated streak came to an end by unanimous decision.

Tate (16-5) has won her last 3 after losing her rematch to Ronda Rousey in December 2013. The latest of her victories was a majority decision over Sara McMann at UFC 183, having rallied from a 1st round knockdown to capture rounds 2 and 3. Eye (11-2, 1 NC) forced a doctor's stoppage in her win over Leslie Smith at UFC 180, bouncing back from her close loss to Alexis Davis at UFC 170. The winner of Tate/Eye is expected to get the next title shot at women's bantamweight.

UFC on Fox 16 will be staged at Chicago's United Center. The last time the promotion went to the Windy City was in January 2014 when Ben Henderson headlined UFC on Fox 10 vs. Josh Thomson.
