If you were expecting Ronda Rousey to be on WWE shows again, Ronda Rousey's agent has squashed the possibility for now.
UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey surprised fans over the weekend by appearing on the big WrestleMania event in Santa Clara. Pro wrestling star and Tooth Fairy lead actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson introduced her to the raucous crowd of 75,000+, and Rousey judo-tossed Paul "Triple H" Levesque in her cameo appearance. WWE fans were enthralled, chanting Rousey's name beforehand before she actually stepped into the ring.
With this year's WrestleMania in the books, will we be seeing Rousey cross over to the pro wrestling organization again? According to her agent, the answer is "no". In a report from Ariel Helwani on Fox Sports 1's UFC Tonight, Rousey will definitely not be appearing in any WWE events for the rest of this year, and that her WrestleMania appearance was merely a one-off. She and The Rock share the same agent, Brad Slater, and this whole thing was in the works for months. Rousey is a long-time fan of pro wrestling and this was, according to Slater, more of a dream fulfilment than anything else beyond that.
Moving past the (lack of) WWE plans, Rousey is scheduled to defend her UFC women's bantamweight title against Bethe Correia at UFC 190 on August 1st in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She'll also be filming the movie Mile 22 next month before she starts her training camp.
