The fireworks have been flying leading up to UFC 205. During weigh-ins Friday, Ronda Rousey came face-to-face with Amanda Nunes, her UFC 207 opponent Dec. 30.
TMZ Sports provided the video of Rousey being introduced to the crowd at Madison Square Garden prior to her rematch with Nunes on Saturday:
Compared to the antics of Conor McGregor at Thursday's press conference, which included him acting like he was going to swing a chair at Eddie Alvarez, Rousey's staredown with Nunes was tame.
Per TMZ Sports, Rousey did walk off the stage before doing the customary interview with Joe Rogan despite UFC President Dana White trying to keep her around.
Nunes, who will be defending the women's bantamweight title against Rousey, told Fox Sports' The Buzzer her goal is to send the former champion into retirement at UFC 207:
This will be Rousey's first bout since November 2015, when Holly Holm won the bantamweight title by knocking her out at UFC 193, giving the former Olympic bronze medalist her first career loss as a mixed martial artist.
After Holm lost the title to Miesha Tate, Nunes defeated Tate with a first-round submission at UFC 200 to capture the title.
During an appearance on Ellen last week (via MMA Junkie), Rousey said her bout with Nunes is going to be one of her final fights.
“I’m wrapping it up,” Rousey said. “This is definitely one of my last fights. Everyone better watch because the show isn’t going to be around forever.”
Rousey may be going out soon, but her appearance at Madison Square Garden on Friday was a reminder she is capable of putting on the game face when it's time to get serious.
