Veteran UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub has confirmed that he'll be dropping to 205 pounds for his next fight.
After much speculation, it appears that 11-time UFC veteran Brendan Schaub has decided to take the plunge and will cut to light heavyweight for his next fight. The news comes from the fighter himself on the latest edition of his podcast, Fighter and the Kid, which he co-hosts with Bryan Callen. This comes a few weeks after the move was rumored on UFC Tonight.
Schaub (10-5, 6-5 UFC) has had his ups and downs as a heavvyweight, picking up wins over the likes of Gabriel Gonzaga and Matt Mitrione but being knocked out four times and engaging in some less-than-entertaining fights outside of those.
He was also skewered by friend and UFC announcer Joe Rogan on his podcast back in December.
The TUF 10 runner-up stated on the podcast that he doesn't have a debut date in mind yet. He weighed in at 244 pounds for his last bout against Travis Browne, where he was stopped in the first round. He has lost two in a row overall.
