A middleweight bout between Scott Askham (12-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Antonio dos Santos Jr. (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is the latest addition to June’s UFC Fight Night 69 lineup in Germany.
UFC officials today announced the bout.
UFC Fight Night 69 takes place June 20 at O2 World Berlin in Germany’s capital city. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass. A light-heavyweight bout between recent title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira headlines.
Askham, a 26-year-old English fighter, won his first 12 pro bouts – nine via stoppage – and earned a UFC contract this past year. However, in his promotional debut, he suffered a decision loss to Magnus Cedenblad at UFC Fight Night 53.
He again looks for his first UFC win, this time against dos Santos Jr., a 26-year-old Brazilian who finds himself in the same situation. After posting a 6-1 record (with four knockouts) on Brazil’s regional scene, where he won Jungle Fight’s light-heavyweight title, he signed with the UFC and suffered a TKO loss to Daniel Sarafian at UFC Fight Night 58 this past year.
With the addition, the UFC Fight Night 69 card now includes:
- Alexander Gustafsson vs. Glover Teixeira
- Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Dennis Siver
- Niklas Backstrom vs. Noah Lahat
- Nick Hein vs. Lukasz Sajewski
- Alan Patrick vs. Mairbek Taisumov
- Scott Askham vs. Antonio dos Santos Jr.
